Entrepreneurship Academy

The Entrepreneurship Academy at Spanish River is designed to prepare students interested in pursuing university degree or career in business. The academy offers business courses focused on Developing skills to enhance students understanding of business including: accounting, marketing, human resources, finance and more. Students will take part in real life experiences further developing their business skills.

Students in the Entrepreneurship Academy have the opportunity to:
  • Learn real-world skills including resume writing, interview techniques, and presentation skills
  • Earn up to 12 college credits with advanced level Business courses through Cambridge's AICE program
  • Compete in state and international business competitions with DECA through Finance, Marketing, Management, Accounting, and more
  • Participate in stock market challenges and simulations
  • Attend field trips and meet business executives from Fortune 500 companies and professional sports teams
  • Participate in hands on activities developing group collaboration and emotional intelligence in a work environment
  • Join National Business Honor Society
*A GPA of 2.5 is required for eligibility when applying
 
In order to be a part of the Entrepreneurship Academy each year, students need to be enrolled in one of the following classes:
  • Accounting Honors
  • AICE AS Business Studies
  • AICE A Business Studies
  • AICE Travel and Tourism AS/A
  • Business Leadership Honors
  • Marketing
  • Principles of Entrepreneurship
  • Sports Marketing Honors
  • Business Ownership Honors
  • Legal Aspects of Business Honors
